Identifying thermal behavior of HV batteries and early prevention of thermal runaway

20 Mar 2026
Day 3
The HV battery is the core component of the e-powertrain system, and temperature is the most critical parameter in battery testing, as it is directly linked to chemical and physical stability. In particular, thermal runaway – where internal heat rises uncontrollably, potentially leading to fire or explosion – is a catastrophic phenomenon that must be prevented. By leveraging Vector’s digital temperature measurement solution, it is possible to secure multiple measurement points across all battery components and perform precise temperature monitoring under every operating scenario. This approach enables accurate analysis of thermal behavior and early detection of risk indicators. Ultimately, it allows the establishment of a systematic temperature management system that guarantees performance, safety and longevity.
