From bottleneck to breakthrough: why automated testing matters and how we built it

18 Mar 2026
Day 1
In digital cluster development, manually validating thousands of test cases has long been a major bottleneck—particularly in agile development environments where build cycles continue to shrink. This session addresses this challenge by sharing the design philosophy and real-world implementation experience behind an automated testing environment developed for digital cluster software. In this session, we explore how a virtualization-based Software-in-the-Loop Simulation (SILS) approach enables vehicle-like test conditions without relying on physical hardware. This session centers on ivis’s iCAN test automation framework, highlighting practical technical components such as YAML-based test case management, Ethernet-based CAN communication integration, and automated test result evaluation through image comparison. By enabling automated regression testing for daily builds, this approach significantly expands test coverage while accelerating feedback cycles. The session concludes by discussing the strategic role of test automation within CI/CT pipelines and presenting measurable results that demonstrate its impact on development efficiency and software quality.
