The 'reliability by design' of electronic systems through system-level RPA (reliability physics analysis) validations and case studies

19 Mar 2026
Day 2
The reliability assessment of electronic systems is a process to validate the ability of an electronic system to meet the required performance specifications in its lifecycle application environment for a specified period. As the integrity and life test on electronics is insufficient to meet the reliability goal and customer expectations in its application, virtual qualification such as system-level RPA should be considered and satisfied. By testing electronic systems virtually at the design stage, system-level RPA simulation helps an OEM respond to various field scenarios such as different lifecycle loads and uses across customer segments. Once an OEM develops a system-level RPA model of a product, the model can be used in many ways during the test and operating period as well as the design stage; for instance, change management, cost optimization, customization by segment and digital twin operation. In the presentation, a few real case studies from the automotive industry will be introduced.
