Zeiss with Omagom. Aramis is a high-accuracy optical sensor for strain, displacement and deformation analysis in 3D. It complements or replaces traditional sensing technologies such as strain gauges, mechanical extensometers, LVDTs, accelerometers and others. Aramis is an optical strain gauge, an optical LVDT, an optical accelerometer, a dynamic optical coordinate measurement technology and much more – all in one measuring device.

Thanks to its non-contact optical measuring principle, Aramis enables much faster preparation of testing objects than traditional tactile sensors. Furthermore, it will increase the data basis for the analysis of strains, displacements and deformation by a factor of 1,000 or more. The dense spatial and temporal resolution of the measuring results will enhance the validation of numerical simulations and pave the way for hybrid testing.
