Brake Pad Measurement System(BPMS)
The system measure both sides of pad flatness and Thickness variation(PTV).
The pad holding fixture designed universally to adopt various sizes and shapes of pad without any jig change.
The dual pad mounting modules located symmetrically to accommodate inside with outside pads at once and linked each other to synchronize moving position on the air bearing base rotary table.
A pair of non-contact type displacement sensors are sensitive about the pad surface roughness and read pores and peaks and outputs average value that is useful to define total friction material loss.
The sensor holding bracket combined with vertical actuator that moves up and down to adjust sensor gap against pad surface.
All the measurement process is doing automatically as per programmed scanning conditions and store data in the classified pad model and operator name based on mileage order.
Pad friction surface changes can be observed by utilizing either grid determined points or by prescribed select areal analysis.
<Point Analysis>
User selects observed points of the pad model and those coordinates information stored and it should copied on to same models automatically for easy comparison.
<Area Analysis>
- Sectional Comparison :
User divides several pad areas along vertically or horizontally and compare each other.
- Directional Comparison :
1) Tangential slope : (Leading edge => Trailing edge)
2) Radial slope : (Inner circle => outer Circle)
